COVID-19 Measures at NELSAM
The museum has re-opened for visitors from the 21st July, the trustees have assessed the situation
and risks, and deemed it appropriate for visitors to return, with the following processes and measures
in place. Please be considerate to volunteers, who have been briefed of these procedures, as well as
other visitors, and always respect the social distancing and hygiene measures.

Face coverings will be mandatory from the 8th August as per the latest Government guidelines.

On entry you will be asked for your temperature to be taken, if this reading is higher than the
tolerance then we would be unable to admit you or anyone you have traveled with into the museum.

You will also be asked to fill out a form with contact details, this is to comply with contact
tracing and will not be used for any other purpose. These details will not be shared, except with
the Government's contact tracing service if requested, and will not be kept longer than is necessary.

There will be a clear screen in place around the shop till to protect both you and any person working the till.

We accept card payments, contactless where applicable, so please use these when paying for shop items or for your entry into the museum.

There will be clear markings throughout the museum to be used as guidance for maintaining a safe
distance from you and other groups, and where practical a one-way system will be in place.

Hand sanitiser will be available, via contactless dispensers, please use these when passing.

Access to the Vulcan and trident interior will be closed until further notice.

Doors will be kept open where possible to reduce any contact with surfaces.

The tea room will be closed and hot drinks machine unavailable.

Any handles and contact surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected regularly
