77Sqn's North East history
The squadron was formed at Edinburgh as a home defence unit
using airfields on the South East coast of Scotland and North East
England. One such airfield was New Haggerston where a detchament of
BE.2 & BE.12 aircraft operated from. Milfield (known then as
Woodbridge) was also used as a relief landing ground. The squadron
disbanded on 13th June 1919.
