92Sqn's North East history
Tour 1
92Sqn was reformed at Acklington following the disbanding
and re-numbering of 91Sqn on 31st January 1947 flying Meteor F.3
aircraft. Shortly after the squadron left for Duxford.
Tour 2
In March 1957 the squadron arrived at Middleton St. George
from Linton-on-Ouse now equipped with Hunter F.4's. The squadron
immediately started a conversion to Hunter F.6 aircraft. Later that
same year, 92Sqn made the short move to Thornaby where they remained
based for one year before moving back to Middleton St. George in
October 1958. They stayed on Teeside until Spring 1961 when they
moved to Leconfield.
