Group visits can be arranged for schools, enthusiasts, clubs etc with prior notice. Addtional information regarding school vists and other educational visits can be found by contacting the museum.
From Newcastle / Gateshead - Pick up the A184 travel East towards Sunderland. At the junction of the A184 / A19 turn right, join the A19 for about 500 yards then, exit 1st left sign posted (Nissan Offices) and Aircraft Museum, then follow brown signs.
From Teeside - Follow the A19 North as you pass the Nissan Car Plant exit left, sign posted (Nissan Offices) and Aircraft Museum, then follow brown signs.
From South Shields - Head West, join the A19 head South after crossing the A184 exit left, sign posted (Nissan Offices) and Aircraft Museum, then follow brown signs.
From Sunderland - Head West, join the A19 head North as you pass the Nissan Car Plant exit left, sign posted (Nissan Offices) and Aircraft Museum, then follow brown signs.
Disabled parking is available near our visitors entrance. For more information about disabled parking on the Museum site please contact the museum. The majority of the outside area is grassed, though there is concrete or gravel pathways to each of the museum hangars There is no wheelchair access on board our aeroplanes
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome, as are all well behaved dogs on Leads.
Toilets are available in the main hangar, near the entrance.
If you need medical assistance please speak to any volunteer or member of staff who will arrange assistance from a trained first-aider or call for an ambulance. Please do remember that the help we are allowed to offer is limited
Available for purchase are assorted books (both new and second hand), Airfix models (& glue/paint), Musuem accessories including Mugs, Pens fridge magnets and collectables, and light refreshments & snacks including tea, coffee & hot chocolate
The museum has a fenced off childrens play area including swings and slide, for younger children. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times whilst using this facility.
